This competency summarises several others and should be adjusted according to the set of resource related competencies used.
The nature of these performance criteria can vary considerably according to the context of the work. When applied to small internal projects, the references to external resources may be omitted.
On more complex projects and programmes (and almost certainly on all portfolios) it is likely that this competency will be supplemented or replaced by more detailed competencies for procurement, contract management and mobilisation.
Knowledge criteria will be adapted to match the performance criteria but not necessarily on a one to one basis. For example, where suppliers may be selected and appointed at programme level, it may be necessary for a project manager using those suppliers to be familiar with contract law.
