July 2014 update

Posted on 29 Jul 2014

July has seen some interesting initiatives get underway. The ‘community driven’ aspect of Praxis was given a great boost by Luca Gambetti and Martin Haedrich who have made a start on translating pages into Italian and French respectively. There’s a lot to translate and hopefully we can attract many volunteers with skills in different languages to help take the framework to project managers all over the world.

In the middle of the month two magazines carried features related to Praxis. In the UK, the magazine of the Association for Project Management, Project, included an interview with Adrian Dooley that explained the origins and principles of Praxis. Visitor numbers increased five-fold overnight and are still well above the levels we were experiencing before the article.

The Polish magazine for project managers, Zarz?dzanie Projektami, carried a translation of the article “Project, programmes, portfolios and the discontinuous mind” and will hopefully carry more articles from Praxis in the future.

Back in the UK, Malcolm West is working hard on a version of his ‘Project in a Box’ tool that brings the Praxis method to life. Malcolm has thousands of users of the enterprise edition (the free version) of Project in a Box around the world and later this year these users will have access to an interactive collaboration with the Praxis Framework.

Finally, our latest project got underway to develop an on-line capability maturity assessment tool. As with everything else in Praxis this will be entirely free and we hope that it will be of great use to organisation who want to implement an improvement plan to take their project management to the next level.
