November has been a busy month behind the scenes.
We are busy working on the hard copy version of the Praxis Framework which will be published in the New Year. It will contain the Knowledge, Method, Competency and Capability Maturity sections of the web site. You may wonder why we are producing hard copy when all this content is available free on the web, but a lot of people still like the tactile nature of a book. You don’t have to switch it on or find a connection, you can highlight stuff and make notes in the margins and, this may sound odd to some of our younger readers, somehow a book feels more personal.
Anyway, if you are one of those people who still loves the swoosh of pages as your thumb sweeps across the edge of the book or likes to put post it notes on the pages you refer to more often – watch this space, it won’t be long.
Our other main project at the moment is the Capability Maturity Self-Assessment tool. Having received comments on the specification and incorporated them in the final set of requirements, we passed them over to our developers. The current plan is to have the assessment available in the second quarter of 2015.
The tool will be in the form of a 360o assessment for projects and programmes. It will provide instant feedback and a real-time dashboard for your progress towards capability and maturity. We’ll keep you informed of how things progress.
And finally, we are pleased to get support from Project Manager Today magazine who have allowed us to include some of their archive of articles on the Praxis Framework resource pages. There are some well-known contributors whose wit and wisdom now enhances the information on the Praxis pages.
Our next update will be in the New Year so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our visitors.
