Interpersonal competencies

Interpersonal is one of three groups of competencies (the other two being delivery and process).

Interpersonal competencies align with the interpersonal functions in the knowledge section of Praxis. The titles reflect the fact that competency is about implementing the functions rather than simply describing what the functions are. Hence the competency ‘manage conflict’ is the application of the function ‘conflict management’.

Interpersonal competencies are by no means unique to project, programme and portfolio management and may often be expressed in terms of personal behaviours and personality characteristics.

The interpersonal competencies in this section focus on how the functions need to be implemented in the P3 context. Additional behaviours could be added as part of tailoring Praxis.
