The purpose of this competency is to achieve the goals of organisation management, i.e. to:
- design an organisation appropriate to the scope of the work to be managed;
- identify and appoint members of the management team
- maintain and adapt the organisation throughout the life cycle.
Performance criteria You must be able to: |
| This competency may be applied to someone who has to decide whether work is to be managed as a project or programme. In this case P1 requires an understanding of both projects and programmes. In less complex situations it may be applied to someone who is given a project and simply has to design a project organisation to suit the circumstances. While P1 works in both contexts the knowledge criteria may be expanded for clarification. In an ideal world a manager can recruit their own team but management team members are often appointed on the basis of availability. If the manager has no control over recruitment P2 may be omitted. |
